In response to organizational decline which occurred during the Great Recession in 2008, Strong & Associates was formed. As a boutique consulting firm, we enable people and organizations to leverage opportunities toward individual and collective growth. In other words, we exist to help others elevate their work.
At Strong & Associates, we place quite a bit of emphasis on the “AND“. To be more specific, particularly on the symbol of the ampersand, “&,” as a focal point. The idea that opportunities and challenges, setbacks and steps forward, individuals and teams are linked. Our approach to working with both people and organizations is to help them recognize the AND. Then we build to leverage strengths and elevate work.

Erik Strong
Principal & Founding Partner at Strong & Associates since 2008.
With experience in start-ups, corporations, and non-profits Erik has worked with clients in education, insurance, management, medicine, sales, and real estate. He holds an MBA focused on Leadership Studies and undergraduate studies in Finance & Marketing. Areas of expertise include: Relationship Management, Sales Process Mastery, and Finite Resource Allocation (e.g., time, money, etc).
Known as a man with a sense of humor, it’s hard not feeling better about yourself when you’re around Erik.
In his own words: “I believe a body (and mind) in motion is happiest. Staying active with work & leisure helps keep us balanced. These principles have guided me for many years. Further, they have helped my clients find fulfillment and success.”
Alan Whitehead
Partner with Strong & Associates since 2008.
With interests and expertise in various fields, Alan has helped clients improve efficiencies, foster more creative environments, and establish learning communities. He holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology, an MBA focused on I/O Psychology, and undergraduate studies in Business & Finance.
Always ready with a comment to make you smile, Alan campaigned hard to make the company tagline “Leverage with Levity.” He was outvoted but remains vigilant in his efforts to bring it back.
In his own words: “We spend so much of our attention, capacity, efforts, and time (indeed our whole lives as it were) at work. It seems to me that we can make the working experience better and more meaningful.”
